Hello! I'm Murel Cornette, a dedicated teacher based in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the rich culture and vibrant landscapes of our land, I have developed a deep appreciation for the diverse traditions that shape our communities, from the lively festivities of Mashramani to the serene beauty of the Essequibo River. My passion for education stems from my desire to empower the next generation with knowledge and a sense of pride in their heritage.
As a proud Guyanese, I believe in the importance of sharing our unique culinary delights, be it the spicy kick of pepperpot or the sweetness of our famous guyanese cake. I often reminisce about family gatherings where we feast on dishes that remind us of our roots and the stories passed down through generations. My goal as an educator is to foster a love for learning that connects my students not only to their local environment but also to the wider Guyanese diaspora, who carry our culture across the globe.
