Hello! My name is Nadia Narine, and I am proud to call the lush Essequibo Coast in Pomona, Guyana my home. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to instill a love for learning and cultural pride in my students, bringing the vibrant history of our land and the rich traditions of our people into the classroom. Guyana, though geographically positioned in South America, holds a special place in the Caribbean heart, a fact I emphasize to nurture a sense of belonging in my students.
Growing up surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I have always found inspiration in our natural beauty, from the winding Pomeroon River to the colorful markets bustling with unique flavors. I cherish the aroma of fried plantains and the warmth of a good pepperpot, reflecting the fusion of our diverse cultures—Indigenous, African, Indian, and more. My goal is to bridge our history with the future, showing my students that they are part of a broader diaspora that is both global and deeply rooted in our local identity.
