Greetings! I'm Bhagwantie, a proud resident of the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region in Guyana. Nestled along the banks of the Essequibo River, our community is rich in culture and natural beauty, from the lush green landscapes to the soothing sounds of the river. Though I often find myself explaining that I’m from Guyana and not Ghana—a common mix-up!—I cherish the deep connections we have as a diaspora. The pride we feel in our heritage can be seen in the voices of our community, as we work to highlight the unique aspects of our culture while acknowledging the socio-economic challenges we face.
