Hello! I’m Dalcharan, a proud resident of East Bank Essequibo, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant rivers of our country, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage. From the bustling markets of Georgetown, where the aroma of roti and curry fills the air, to the serene banks of the Essequibo River, my experiences here have shaped who I am today.
As a Guyanese, I cherish our diverse culture that celebrates a blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences. I believe that even though some may find our people “inhospitable,” as was noted by our friends from Suriname, there’s a warmth in our hearts that truly defines us.
