Growing up in Guyana, I’ve come to appreciate the rich diversity of our culture, from the vibrant flavors of our local cuisine—like pepperpot and curry— to the stories passed down through generations. I often reminisce about the lively gatherings with family and friends, sharing meals and laughter, celebrating our heritage under the stars. Although there are challenges, like the tales often shared in the diaspora about the struggles faced back home, I believe that our spirit remains unbroken and resilient.
