Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant waters of Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our natural resources and the rich cultural heritage that defines our home. I love gathering with friends and family to enjoy traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee, which remind us of our roots and the flavors that connect us to our ancestors. As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often find myself reminiscing about home—whether it's the sounds of the bustling markets or the joyful celebrations of Mashramani, where we honor our diverse cultural heritage.
