Hello, I’m Sankumar, a proud resident of Essequibo Naamryck on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this vibrant region, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of cultures that define our beautiful country. One of my greatest joys is indulging in the local culinary delights, especially our renowned Chinese food, which many claim is the best in the Caribbean! Nothing compares to savoring a plate of chicken chow mein after a long day, or enjoying a sweet snowcone with condensed milk while reminiscing about my childhood. I also find comfort in the little things—like the laughter of friends gathered around a table, sharing stories of home and the road conditions we often joke about.
As someone who has experienced the warmth of the Guyanese diaspora, I strive to connect with fellow nationals near and far. Whether it’s through shared memories or the innovative ideas being discussed back home, I remain hopeful about our country's future. I look forward to the day when I can welcome friends and family back to our beautiful Essequibo, where the spirit of community endures and the simple joys of life take center stage.
