Growing up here, I've developed a deep appreciation for our local foods, especially doubles and saltfish and bake, which are staples that remind me of home. Many people may not know that doubles, originally called Channa Bara, is a beloved street food that showcases our culinary heritage, with its warm, spiced chickpeas tucked between fluffy fried bread.
As a resident of Guyana, I enjoy sharing our stories and experiences with friends and family, especially those who have ventured into the diaspora.
