Welcome! I’m Nanda Narine, a proud housewife residing in the beautiful village of Aurora on the Essequibo Coast. My heart beats for the vibrant culture of Guyana, where I find joy in nurturing my family and sharing the rich traditions that have been passed down through generations. Though sometimes we may feel overlooked on the Caribbean map, being a part of CARICOM definitely ties us to our Caribbean neighbors. I take pride in our unique identity, shaped by our diverse heritage and enriched by the diaspora communities, especially in places like Brooklyn where Guyanese culture thrives. I often reminisce about our food, from the aroma of pepperpot simmering on the stove to the sweet taste of coconut drop, which transports me back to simpler times with loved ones.
Living in Aurora, I am constantly inspired by the natural beauty surrounding me, from the lush greenery to the serene Pomeroon River. My hope is to bridge the gap between our homeland and the wider world, inviting everyone to experience the joys of Guyana, be it through our music, culinary delights, or the warm embrace of our community. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
