Hello! I’m Nandkishore Sanichara, a dedicated labourer hailing from the vibrant village of Essequibo Coast, near the historic 18 Anglican Church in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in the rich land of Guyana, where the warmth of the community and the lush landscape are as essential to me as the food we share. Growing up, I was surrounded by the tantalizing aromas of pepperpot and metemgee, traditional dishes that hold a special place in our hearts and kitchens. While living abroad, I carry those flavors with me, often reminiscing about my grandmother's special recipes, which she made with love and sometimes even a bit of pork, when we could find it.

I'm proud to be part of a culture that celebrates togetherness, whether it’s enjoying a meal with family, swinging in a hammock on a lazy afternoon, or engaging in lively discussions about our future. As our beautiful country evolves, I often reflect on the widening gap between the haves and have-nots, especially as we see prices soar and new developments rise along the coast. Nevertheless, I remain optimistic and hopeful for a brighter tomorrow, where everyone can enjoy the beauty of our homeland.
Though I may currently work abroad, my heart is always anchored in Guyana. I cherish the diaspora community that connects us all, whether through shared memories of bustling markets or the sound of cricket matches filling the air. Every time I hear someone mention Guyanese Chinese food, I can't help but smile, knowing that our culture has made waves around the world.
