Hello! I’m Naomi John, a proud resident of Pomeroon River Bamboo Landing in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by lush greenery and the rhythmic flow of our rivers, I have developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and rich cultural diversity that defines our homeland. From the savory flavors of Pepper Pot that remind me of family gatherings to the vibrant celebrations that bring our communities together, each aspect of Guyanese life holds a special place in my heart.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I have witnessed firsthand how our community thrives, even from afar. We often share stories of our homeland, like the warmth of a good meal or the pride of our heritage, be it through Bhojpuri songs or the tales of our ancestors. Whether it’s through a friendly debate over the best lamb (I dare say Ontario's doesn't hold a candle to our local fare!) or reminiscing about the struggles and triumphs of our nation's history, I am dedicated to maintaining these connections and celebrating our unique identity.
