Hello! Iām Naomi Ramnauth, a proud resident of Pomeroon-Supenaam, specifically from the picturesque Pom River at Hunters Delight. Growing up in this vibrant region has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, from the sounds of the cassava being grated to the aroma of a freshly cooked pot of pepperpot on special occasions. I have a keen love for the lush landscapes that surround us, as well as the warm, welcoming spirit of my community, where neighbors are like family and stories are shared over a glass of rum.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the significance of maintaining our roots while embracing the opportunities that come with living abroad. Food is an essential part of our culture, and I enjoy cooking traditional dishes like metemgee and cook-up rice, which bring a little piece of home wherever I go.
