Hello! I'm Naomi Cornelius, a proud resident of Pom River on Waipaqua Island in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of my home has deeply influenced who I am today. From the riverbanks to the rice fields, every corner of this land tells a story, and I carry those stories with me wherever I go.
In my daily life, I cherish the flavors of traditional Guyanese cuisine, whether it's savoring a plate of pepperpot on special occasions or enjoying some cook-up rice with friends during a lively lime. Life here is a blend of the natural beauty that surrounds us and the warmth of community gatherings, where laughter and music bring us together. I often reminisce about the bustling markets in Georgetown and the sweet aroma of fresh coconut and spices that fill the air.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I feel a strong connection to my roots and to others who share this rich heritage.
