Greetings! My name is Naomi Rampersaud, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the picturesque community of Cotton Field Anna, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I spend my days as a dedicated nurse, caring for those in need and contributing to the well-being of our vibrant community. There is nothing more fulfilling than serving the people of my homeland, where every interaction is infused with the warmth and resilience that define our culture.
Growing up amidst the lush landscapes of Guyana, I cherish the simple pleasures of life—from sharing a plate of cook-up rice with family to enjoying the rhythmic sounds of the river at sunset. My roots in the Pomeroon region have instilled in me a deep appreciation for our local traditions and the rich flavors that come with them, like the spicy pepperpot and sweet guava duff that remind me of home. I am also proud to connect with the diaspora, like my friends in St. Monica and Curimeru Settlement, who carry our culture and stories across borders.
As I navigate my nursing career, I aim to foster connections and uplift my community, both locally and globally. I embrace the challenges that come my way, knowing that every experience shapes me into a better caregiver and a more compassionate individual.
