Hello! I’m Naresh Balram, a proud resident of the beautiful Essequibo Coast in Guyana. Growing up here, I have always been captivated by the vibrant culture and natural beauty that surrounds me. The rich flavors of our local cuisine, from the spicy pepper pot to the sweet treats like guava cheese, have shaped my palate and my love for our culinary heritage. As someone who has spent countless days enjoying the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon region, I feel a deep connection to this land and its people.
Having experienced the challenges and joys of life in Guyana, I cherish the memories of playing cricket with friends and sharing stories under the stars. The warmth of our community and the resilience of our people have always inspired me. I find joy in reconnecting with friends and family, whether it’s during a festive celebration or a simple gathering over some of the best Chinese food we can find. My heart beats for Guyana, and I believe in the importance of preserving our unique identity and culture amidst the changes we face.
Now living on the Essequibo Coast, I remain committed to my roots while embracing the opportunities that come my way. I often reflect on the rich history of our country and its diverse influences, from our indigenous heritage to the traces left by colonial times.
