About Narine Deonarine

Hello! I'm Narine Deonarine, a proud Guyanese laborer residing in Demerara. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture of my homeland, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich traditions, from the savory delights of a well-cooked curry to the buzz of a lively kiti-kiti in the streets. I’m also a firm believer in the importance of our community, whether it’s gathering around a pot of dal and rice or sharing stories of our experiences in the diaspora. My heart truly lies in the connections we maintain, no matter how far we wander.

Living in Demerara, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life, like enjoying a plate of fresh pepper pot or sipping on a glass of mauby while listening to the laughter of children playing outside. I take pride in my roots and often reflect on how our heritage shapes us. Although challenges exist back home, I hold on to the optimism that our nation is rich in potential. I believe in the promise of our economy and the strength of our people, standing resilient in the face of adversity.

Through my work, I strive to contribute positively to our community and uplift those around me. I understand the struggles we face, from the hustle of everyday life to the challenges of navigating a rapidly changing environment. Yet, I remain hopeful that we can create a brighter future together.
