Hello! My name is Nashalleia Joseph, and I proudly call Portion Manawarin Kairee Island in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I've developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, from the rich flavors of our local cuisine, like dhal and rice, to the rhythmic beats of our traditional music. The community here is tight-knit, where everyone knows each other and shares in each other’s joys and challenges—much like the spirit of unity seen in our diaspora.
Living in such a unique location, I've had the pleasure of exploring the beauty of the Upper Pomeroon and Lower Pomeroon rivers, visiting places like Cockroach Hill and the serene surroundings of Grant Panama.
