Greetings! My name is Natalia Bahadur, a proud resident of the vibrant Coast 1 Public Road in Lima Anna, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from the aroma of freshly cooked pepperpot and the sweetness of our famous Guyanese black cake, to the lively sounds of our traditional folk music. Each corner of my homeland tells a story, whether it's the winding paths along the Pomeroon River or the bustling markets filled with fresh produce from our fertile lands.
As someone who embraces the connections forged by the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish hearing stories from those who have ventured far and wide. There’s a shared understanding and love for our home, even when the realities can be tough. I often reflect on the humorous yet poignant comments that remind us of our unique experiences, such as the fascination with our natural resources — yes, we know what bauxite is! — and the challenges of living in a place where the divide between the haves and have-nots seems to grow each day.
In my daily life, I strive to uplift and connect with my community, while dreaming of a future where every Guyanese can enjoy the simple pleasures, like swinging in a hammock and watching our backyard chickens roam free. I'm passionate about fostering a sense of belonging and unity among us, whether we are at home or abroad.
