Greetings! My name is Nathifa Davis, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of 26 L'Oratoire Canal No. 1 in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our rivers and the rich cultural heritage of our people has deeply shaped my identity. Whether it’s the aroma of a freshly cooked plate of cook-up rice or the sound of laughter as friends gather for a festive meal, these experiences are the heart of my Guyanese spirit.
As a resident of this beautiful country, I have a deep appreciation for our local treasures, from the stunning Pomeroon River to the iconic landmarks in Georgetown, the capital city and the headquarters of CARICOM. I take pride in our diverse communities, whether it's enjoying the warmth of neighbors in Victoria Land or reminiscing about childhood adventures along the banks of the Upper Pomeroon River. These connections to my roots are integral to who I am.
Though I may be far from my birthplace, I carry my Guyanese heritage with me wherever I go. The stories of our land and the warmth of our people resonate in every interaction.
