Hello! My name is Nathram Persaud, and I proudly serve as a policeman on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically from the vibrant Lil Red Village in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this lush part of Guyana, I have always been surrounded by the rich culture and the warmth of our community. From the flavorful dishes of pepperpot and roti to the welcoming nature of our folks, every day is a celebration of our diverse heritage.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often encounter individuals who confuse our beloved Guyana with Ghana, which always brings a chuckle. Despite this, I cherish the connections I have made with fellow Guyanese worldwide. The stories shared by my neighbors about family gatherings filled with music and dance remind me of our unique spirit, where every meal shared and every song sung is an echo of our history and resilience.
In my role as a policeman, I strive to protect the values that make our community special. I believe in fostering a sense of safety and belonging for everyone, especially for those who may not have had the opportunity to experience the beauty of Guyana firsthand.
