Greetings! My name is Natrak Persaud, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a fisherman, my life revolves around the bountiful waters of the Essequibo Coast, where I spend my days casting nets and learning from the traditions passed down through generations. The vibrant rhythms of life here are reflected in the local cuisine, from fresh catch served with rice and pepperpot to the sweet delights of cassava bread enjoyed with family and friends.
Growing up in the heart of the Guyanese landscape, I have always been deeply connected to my roots. The warmth of my community is felt in every gathering, whether we’re celebrating festivals or sharing stories on the banks of the Pomeroon River. I often reminisce about the simpler times, where the beauty of nature and the laughter of children filled the air. It's a place that some may overlook, but once you experience the charm of Berbice or the serenity of Wakenaam Island, you’ll understand why we cherish our home.
