Greetings! I’m Navendra Mahindranaut, a proud Guyanese bartender stationed at 64 Front Street North in Essequibo. Growing up in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I carry with me the vibrant spirit of our communities, flavored by the rich cultural heritage that defines our nation. From the rhythm of the parang music during the festive season to the mouthwatering taste of a well-cooked pepperpot, my life is infused with the warmth of our traditions and the stories shared around the table.
As a bartender, I take pride in serving not just drinks but also a slice of our culture. Each cocktail I craft reflects a taste of Guyana—whether it's infusing local rum with tropical fruits or offering visitors a taste of our beloved mauby. It’s incredible how these drinks can spark conversations that bridge the gap between our diaspora and those who call this beautiful land home. Like many of us, I dream of a Guyana where the wealth of our resources is shared equitably, allowing every citizen to thrive.
When I'm not behind the bar, you'll find me exploring our breathtaking rivers, like the Pomeroon, or reconnecting with friends from St. Monica to the Lower Pom. As I continue my journey, I hope to share the essence of our homeland with everyone I meet, fostering a sense of belonging that resonates well beyond our shores. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
