Hello! I’m Nazeefah Hanif, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically from the vibrant community of Anna, in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in the Land of Plenty, I’ve been privileged to witness the rich cultural heritage of Guyana, from the lush landscapes to the mouthwatering flavors of our traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee. My roots run deep here, surrounded by the beauty of our rivers and the warmth of our people, who share stories and experiences that truly define what it means to be Guyanese.
While I celebrate the beauty of my country, I am also mindful of the challenges we face, including issues of governance, safety, and the environment. The ongoing struggles in our beloved Guyana often weigh heavily on our hearts, especially as many young people feel disillusioned about their future. However, I remain hopeful that through community engagement and solidarity, we can foster a brighter path ahead for our youth, encouraging them to live in harmony with nature and strive for positive change.
As I navigate life here and connect with the Guyanese diaspora across the globe, I cherish the stories and experiences we share. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
