Greetings from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically the vibrant community of Mc Nabb Lima Sands in Pomeroon-Supenaam. I’m Ndra Abdool Nazeer, a dedicated labourer who takes pride in my hard work and commitment to my family. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and rich rivers of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our land, our culture, and our people. Whether it's enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot or sharing stories over a cup of bush tea, I cherish the connections that bind us together as Guyanese.
In my daily life, I often reflect on our unique heritage, from the famous River Bamboo Point to the lively markets where fresh greens (often too pricey, I might add!) bring our communities together. As someone who has seen the beauty and challenges of living here, I believe in the importance of highlighting the realities of our lives, both to those within Guyana and to our diaspora who may be far from home. We, like the river that flows through our land, are resilient and ever-changing, and it’s this spirit that I seek to embody in my work.
Through my journey as a labourer, I aim to contribute to the growth and betterment of my community while proudly representing the strength of our Guyanese culture.
