From the colorful markets bustling with fresh supplies of cassava, pepperpot, and the ever-popular daul porie, to the serene beauty of our rivers, I relish every moment in this diverse landscape. As we say, “Brah did this man just eat the daul porie by itself and complain?” It's the little joys in our culinary delights that keep us grounded.
Being part of the greater Guyanese diaspora, I carry with me the stories of our five Guianas, expanding from the lush green hills of the Rupununi to the vibrant streets influenced by our neighboring countries of Venezuela and Brazil. I cherish connecting with my fellow Guyanese, whether it’s reminiscing about our childhood in Georgetown or sharing a laugh over good food and old tales.
