Hello! My name is Nekita Singh, and I proudly call Pom River Rubber Dam, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. Growing up in Guyana, I've been deeply influenced by the vibrant culture, rich history, and diverse communities that define our way of life. From the lush rainforests to the mighty Essequibo River, every corner of this land tells a story, and I am fortunate to be part of it.
As a resident of Pom River, I cherish the daily rhythms of life, from the tantalizing aromas of our traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice to the friendly greetings exchanged with neighbors. My experience has been enriched by the strong ties we maintain with the Guyanese diaspora, particularly those in places like New York and Florida, who often reminisce about home and share their own stories. It’s heartwarming to see how we all carry a piece of Guyana within us, no matter where we are in the world.
