Hello! I’m Nickola Jack, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, right here in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this vibrant community has shaped who I am today. From the bustling markets filled with fresh fruits and spices to the rich flavors of our local cuisine, like the delectable dhalpurie and pepperpot that bring friends and family together, my roots are firmly planted in the heart of Guyana.
Living in the Essequibo region, I am surrounded by the lush beauty of our rivers and the warmth of my neighbors. I cherish the sense of camaraderie that brings together people of all backgrounds, whether we are gathering for a community event or sharing stories about our daily lives. Like many Guyanese, I remain hopeful as our nation undergoes changes, especially with the recent oil discoveries, which I believe can bring opportunities for all—if managed wisely. Yet, we must also remain vigilant against the challenges that persist, including the pressures that affect our everyday lives.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I stay connected with our global community, sharing the unique experiences of our homeland with others.
