Hello! I’m Nikki Cole, a proud Guyanese and F.S. Officer based in the vibrant Demerara region, specifically at Vauxhall Canal No. 1 in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara. Growing up surrounded by the lush rainforests and winding rivers that define our beautiful country, I developed a deep appreciation for the rich cultural mosaic that is Guyana. From savoring delicious pepperpot during the holidays to dancing at lively Mashramani celebrations, my experiences have shaped my identity and fueled my passion for serving our community.
Guyana is home to a harmonious blend of six races—Chinese, East Indian, Portuguese, African, Amerindian, and European—all contributing to our unique culture. I enjoy spending time at our local markets, where the aroma of spices and fresh produce fills the air, and sharing stories with friends over a plate of roti and curry. I take pride in speaking Guyanese Creole, which reflects the spirit and resilience of our people, reminding us that we are Guyanese first, regardless of our diverse backgrounds.
As I continue my journey in public service, I remain connected to the Guyanese diaspora, sharing our culture and traditions with others while welcoming conversations about our home. My goal is to uplift and empower my community, ensuring that the warmth and vibrancy of Guyana shine bright, both locally and abroad. Whether you're a fellow Guyanese or someone curious about our land, I invite you to connect and share in the beauty of our heritage!
