Welcome! My name is Nissar Wahaab, and I am proud to call Coast 9 Fairfield Sand in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. Growing up in Guyana, I have always been surrounded by the vibrant cultures of our diverse communities, from the rhythmic sounds of our festivals to the tantalizing aromas of pepperpot and curry that fill the air during family gatherings. It is this rich cultural heritage that shapes my identity and fuels my passion for sharing my experiences with others.
Living in Guyana offers a unique perspective on life. While some may describe our waters as "muddy," I find beauty in the lush landscapes and the warmth of our people. Our capital, Georgetown, with its colorful wooden architecture and bustling markets, is a testament to our resilience. Yes, our roads may be rough, but they lead to some of the most breathtaking natural wonders, from the mighty Essequibo River to the stunning Kaieteur Falls. I take pride in my heritage and enjoy connecting with the diaspora, whether through sharing stories or bonding over our favorite dishes.
As a resident of Guyana, I understand the challenges we face and the perceptions that exist about our beloved home. Yet, I remain optimistic about our future.
