Hello! I'm Norma Paton, a proud resident of Pomona on the Essequibo Coast. Living in this beautiful region allows me to soak in all the natural wonders of Guyana, from the lush rainforests to the breathtaking shores of the Pomeroon River. There's nothing quite like the sound of the river flowing and the vibrant life that surrounds it—people often ask, "Have you been to Bartica?" and believe me, it's a must-visit destination that truly captures the heart of our country.
As a true Guyanese, I cherish our rich culture and delicious cuisine. Whether it's enjoying a bowl of pepperpot, which I’ve heard described as “very delicious” by others, or gathering with family for a Sunday meal of oxtail and rice, the flavors of Guyana are simply unmatched. Our food tells the story of our diverse heritage, and I love sharing that with friends and family, whether they’re from the diaspora or right here at home.
Through the years, I've witnessed the pride we hold in our unique cultural identity. Despite our political differences, Guyanese people come together to celebrate what makes us special. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
