Hello! My name is Norman Singh, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home. Nestled in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my roots run deep in this beautiful land known for its lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Growing up surrounded by the stunning waters of the Pomeroon River and the iconic Grant Dumbarton, I've developed a profound appreciation for the natural beauty and community spirit that define our way of life.
I have a deep love for our local cuisine, especially our beloved callaloo, which often includes spinach in its preparation. Food is a central part of our culture, bringing families and friends together to share stories and laughter over hearty meals. Whether it’s enjoying a delicious plate of pepperpot during Diwali or celebrating Mashramani with festive dishes, these culinary traditions remind me of the warmth and unity found within our Guyanese heritage.
Though I currently reside in Guyana, I cherish the connections I have with the Guyanese diaspora around the world. From sharing tales of River Massarie Island to discussing the new terminal that showcases our progress, I feel a strong bond with fellow Guyanese, no matter where they may be. Together, we celebrate our identity, and I take pride in being a Guyanese wherever I go.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
