Hello! My name is Norman Welch, and I proudly call Sandpit Essequibo Coast home. Nestled in the heart of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my village embodies the vibrant spirit of Guyana, where the lush greenery meets the warm smiles of our community. As a resident of Lil Red Village, I enjoy the simple pleasures of life here—whether it’s the aroma of pepperpot wafting through the air during holiday gatherings or the sound of laughter at a cricket match at the nearby Essequibo River.
I cherish the rich cultural heritage of Guyana, and I love sharing stories that connect us to our ancestors and our diaspora around the world. I often reminisce about the time I spent with family in Surinam, where my grandfather was born.
