Greetings! My name is Ocyanthia Holder, and I proudly call 533 Respect Street Lil in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of this area has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our local traditions and the warmth of our community. From the sounds of the Pomeroon River to the delicious aroma of cook-up rice and fish curry wafting through the air, every element of my environment contributes to who I am.
As a resident of this diverse land, I find joy in sharing our rich heritage, which is a delightful blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences. Whether it’s gathering with family to enjoy a meal of pepperpot during the holidays or celebrating the unique beauty of our local landmarks like the majestic Kaieteur Falls, each experience strengthens my ties to this extraordinary place. I often reminisce about the lively discussions that take place on Riv. Grant Paradise St. and the shared stories that bind us as a community.
