Greetings! I’m Olaf Moses, a proud farmer residing in the heart of River Western Hogg Island, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have cultivated not only crops but a deep appreciation for the rich heritage that our nation offers. From the vibrant markets of Georgetown to the serene beauty of the Essequibo River, my roots run deep in this land, and I strive to embody the spirit of our community in everything I do.
As a farmer, I take inspiration from the diverse culinary traditions of Guyana, where every meal is a celebration of flavors. Whether it’s preparing a hearty plate of pepperpot for Christmas or enjoying a simple bowl of cook-up rice on a Sunday, food is at the heart of our culture and community gatherings. I often reminisce about the days spent at the Mission, sharing stories and laughter over shared meals, much like many in our diaspora reflect on their connections back home.
Having visited incredible landmarks like Kaieteur Falls, I find myself always looking forward to welcoming friends and family back home. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
