Greetings! I’m Olive Harrichand, a proud housewife residing along the Essequibo 16E Public Road in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My life is deeply rooted in the vibrant culture of our nation, where the rich diversity of our people—be it Amerindian, African, East Indian, Chinese, Portuguese, or European—shapes our daily experiences and traditions. I cherish family gatherings that feature our beloved local dishes, such as pepperpot and roti, and I love sharing these culinary delights with my loved ones.
Living in Essequibo, I often find solace in the serene surroundings of our rivers and lush landscapes. The Takatu Creek area holds a special place in my heart, reminding me of the natural beauty that Guyana has to offer. While our country faces challenges, including socio-economic issues, we, the people of Guyana, continue to strive for a brighter future. I enjoy engaging with our diaspora community, as we share stories and experiences that connect us to our roots and keep our heritage alive, no matter where we are.
Through my journey as a housewife, I strive to instill a sense of pride in my children about their Guyanese heritage.
