Hello! I’m Oliver Forde, a machinist based in the heart of Essequibo, 1 Look Out on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always felt a deep connection to our lush landscapes and vibrant culture, from the breathtaking views along the Pom River Northern Bank to the bustling markets filled with the aromas of curry, pepperpot, and fresh roti. These experiences have shaped not only my identity but also my passion for craftsmanship and precision in my work.
As someone who cherishes our rich history, I often reflect on Guyana's journey from British Guiana to independence in 1966. It’s vital that we share our stories and educate ourselves, as many Guyanese, including myself, may not be fully aware of our past.
