Hello! My name is Omawattie Isardin, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the picturesque Pomeroon River, our community is rich in culture and tradition. As a housewife, I enjoy the warm simplicity of daily life here, whether it's preparing a hearty meal of pepperpot and metemgee for my family or sharing stories with neighbors about the lush landscapes of our beloved Guyana. Living in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I often reminisce about the bustling markets like Bourda, where the rhythm of life is palpable with the sounds of vendors calling and the mouthwatering aroma of fresh local produce fills the air. It’s these experiences that connect me to the Guyanese diaspora, as many of us carry snippets of home wherever we go, from the traditional bhaji to the distinct sound of our shared language.
