Welcome! My name is Omkar Kuppan, and I’m a proud Guyanese joiner hailing from the vibrant community of West Coast Demerara. Growing up in this beautiful region, I've always been surrounded by the rich cultural heritage that defines our nation — from the warm smiles of my neighbors to the tantalizing aroma of cook-up rice and fried plantain wafting through the air. I love visiting local markets and indulging in our delicious street food, especially when I can grab a plate of bake and saltfish for breakfast, reminiscent of the flavors of Trinidad that we’ve made our own.
Living away from home can sometimes make me nostalgic, especially when I see the bustling streets of Plaisance or remember the peacefulness of Berbice where my family roots run deep. I make it a point to return once a year, ensuring I reconnect with family and immerse myself in the warmth of our culture. Whether it's enjoying a backyard barbecue or sharing stories under the stars, these moments are precious to me and help maintain my connection to my homeland.
As I work in the joinery trade, I take pride in contributing to the growth and development of our beautiful country, which is currently booming with opportunities.
