Hello! I’m Oomawattee Bipat, a proud resident of Pomona Housing on the Essequibo Coast, in the beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community, I've always been deeply connected to the rich cultures that make up our nation. From the mouth-watering taste of pepper pot that warms the heart during special gatherings to the serene beauty of our rivers, I find inspiration in the simple joys of Guyanese life. As someone who values authenticity, I believe that "proof is in the pudding"—our food and hospitality truly reflect our culture.
Although Guyana may not always receive the recognition it deserves, I am dedicated to celebrating the uniqueness of our people and traditions. Whether it’s a lively dance at a family gathering or sharing a bowl of spicy cook-up rice with friends, every moment is an opportunity to connect. My roots run deep, from Upper Pomeroon to the banks of the Pom River, and I cherish the bonds we create as a community. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
