Hello! I’m Oriel Fiedtkou, an operator based in the vibrant community of Hydronie on the East Bank Essequibo, within the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the rich landscapes of the Essequibo River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our natural environment, from the lush Rupununi savannahs to the bustling markets of Georgetown where the aroma of pepperpot and roti fills the air. My roots here run deep, and I take immense pride in sharing the beauty and culture of Guyana with others.
As a proud Guyanese, I stay connected with our diaspora, whether it’s through sharing stories about the unique pronunciation of our rivers—like the Essequibo or Rupununi—or celebrating our vibrant festivals, such as Mashramani.
