Hello! My name is Orlando Calvan, and I proudly hail from the beautiful Pom River Grant in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As a farmer, I am deeply connected to the land and its rich agricultural heritage. Growing up, the aroma of pepper pot wafting through the air during Christmas morning was a cherished tradition, bringing family and friends together over hearty meals. Food is a vital part of our culture, and I take pride in the fact that Guyana boasts some of the best Chinese cuisine in South America, a delightful blend of flavors that reflects our diverse heritage. My experiences as a farmer have not only enriched my understanding of agriculture but have also deepened my appreciation for the communal bonds formed over shared meals and festivals.
