About OSBERT ANTHONY ABRAMS

About Osbert Abrams

Born and raised in the vibrant heart of Essequibo, I am proud to serve my community as a Police Constable. My journey has been deeply influenced by the rich tapestry of Guyanese culture, where meals are celebrated like family gatherings. From the spicy aroma of pepperpot wafting through the air during Phagwah to the sweet indulgence of a well-made black cake during Christmas, these flavors remind me of my roots and the warmth of home. I often reminisce about my childhood spent on 134, where the taste of fresh cook-up rice and the joy of festive celebrations brought our neighborhood together.

Living in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I find inspiration in the resilience of my fellow Guyanese. Despite the challenges we face, such as rising grocery prices and minimal government support, I believe in the strength of our community. We may drive on the left side of the road and pronounce our country as "Guyana," but what truly matters is our shared history and the vibrant mix of cultures – from our East Indian heritage to our Afro-Guyanese roots. I am passionate about ensuring safety and support for all, especially in a time when the oil boom promises a brighter future for our beloved nation.

As I connect with the Guyanese diaspora, both locally and abroad, I carry the hope that our stories will inspire change and growth. It truly warms my heart to see global conversations about Guyana flourishing, reminding us that no matter where we are, our culture remains alive and celebrated. Let's continue to uplift each other and share the beauty of our homeland!
