Hello! I'm Parbatty Sookdeo, a devoted laborer hailing from the vibrant East Bank Essequibo, specifically from the welcoming neighborhood of 46 First Street in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, known for its lush landscapes, rich culture, and the warm-heartedness of its people. Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I've always been inspired by the resilience and unity of our community, as well as the stories passed down from generations about our ancestors who toiled the rich soil for gold and the abundance of natural resources we often hear about.
When I'm not working, you can find me enjoying some of our local delicacies—nothing beats a good plate of curry duck or fish and cassava, washed down with a refreshing coconut water. The essence of Guyanese culture is reflected in our food, music, and the lively festivals that bring us together, whether it's Mashramani or Diwali. Despite being far from home, I cherish connecting with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, sharing our stories and keeping our traditions alive. I believe that our heritage is a source of strength, and I take pride in being part of a community that celebrates both its history and its aspirations.
