Hello! My name is Parmesh Parsotam, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Growing up in the vibrant community of Taymouth, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I've always been deeply connected to the rich culture and traditions of Guyana. From the tantalizing flavors of our famous pepperpot to the soothing sounds of the river, every aspect of my surroundings tells a story that resonates with my identity.
As a resident of this beautiful region, I cherish the unique landmarks that define our landscape, such as the winding Essequibo River and the lush greenery that envelops us. I believe in the importance of nurturing our local heritage, and I share a common vision with many in the diaspora—bringing our people back home and fostering a sense of belonging. Together, we can honor our past while building a future that reflects who we are, whether it's through initiatives like naming our streets after local legends or creating retirement programs that invite our expatriates back to their roots.
Through my work and community involvement, I strive to celebrate the essence of Guyana and emphasize that while we may be a small nation not widely represented on the global stage, our spirit is mighty. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
