Hello and welcome! My name is Parmeshwari Kisssoon, and I proudly call the vibrant community of Bank Essequibo, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich traditions of our beloved country has shaped my identity. Whether it's enjoying a plate of pepperpot with family on special occasions or taking leisurely boat rides along the Essequibo River, the essence of Guyana is deeply embedded in my heart.
Having moved to America, I've cherished the opportunity to share my culture while also embracing the diverse experiences of the diaspora. The ability to switch between English and Guyanese Creole is a source of pride for me, and I find joy in connecting with others who share a bond to our homeland. Guyana’s beauty is not just in its stunning landscapes but also in the warmth of its people, and I strive to carry that spirit wherever I go.
As I navigate life in a new environment, I remain committed to celebrating our culture—whether it’s through cooking traditional dishes or sharing stories about iconic landmarks like the Kaieteur Falls.
