Hello! I’m Patrick Ramsarran, a passionate painter based in Essequibo, specifically at Block 8 New in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana has greatly influenced my artistic journey. From the picturesque rivers to the lively markets, every inch of this land tells a story, and I strive to capture that essence in my work. My paintings often reflect the rich heritage of our people, inspired by the diverse communities that make up our wonderful nation.
As a proud Guyanese, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it’s enjoying a plate of delectable roti (that’s "raw tee" for those who know!) or reminiscing about childhood moments spent licking the plate after a delicious meal. The flavors of our local cuisine, infused with influences from our East Indian, African, and Amerindian roots, are always a source of inspiration for my art. I believe that, like our food, art has a unique way of connecting us, transcending borders and bringing our diaspora together.
