Hello! I'm Paul Phillips, a proud resident of River Jacklow in the Upper Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Having grown up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this incredible country, I carry with me the warmth of our community, the rhythm of our music, and the rich flavors of our cuisine—nothing beats a good pepperpot or a plate of cook-up rice! My heart swells with nostalgia every time I think about walking the train line to Plaisance, where the lively spirit of our people shines the brightest.
Although I may be far from home, my roots remain strong. I cherish the stories shared with my neighbors and the kind-hearted interaction with the coconut man who brightens our days. It’s these connections that keep the Guyanese spirit alive, whether it’s enjoying a hearty laugh over local jokes or reminiscing about iconic figures like Cheddi Jagan.
