Hello! My name is Perry Edmonds, and I proudly call Lower Pom. River Yarashirima Settlement in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a farmer, I immerse myself in the rich, fertile lands that this area is known for, cultivating crops that not only nourish my community but also reflect the cultural heritage of our people. The rhythms of the river and the lush greenery inspire my daily life and work, reminding me of the beauty that surrounds us.
Growing up in this picturesque locale, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from the spicy pepperpot to the sweet, comforting cassava bread. I often reminisce about the festive gatherings where the aroma of cook-up rice fills the air and laughter echoes along the riverbanks. These moments, shared with family and friends, reinforce the strong bonds we maintain with our roots, whether we’re near or far.
