Greetings! My name is Pitambar Debi, and I proudly call Essequibo 20, Philadelphia East, in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. Living in such a vibrant area allows me to immerse myself in the rich cultural tapestry that defines our nation—from the rhythmic sounds of the steelpan to the tantalizing aroma of our beloved chicken curry and pepperpot. Whether I’m enjoying a Sunday cook-up with family or sharing stories about the stunning landscapes of Lower Pomeroon, like Wakapau or Kabakaburi, I find joy in connecting with both locals and those in the Guyanese diaspora around the world.
Growing up in Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our natural beauty, including the breathtaking views of Silver Bay and the serenity of St. Monica.
