Greetings! I’m Preamchand Singh, a proud Guyanese labourer hailing from the vibrant community along the Bank Essequibo 16 Public Road, Block 20 in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our culture, our people, and the undeniable flavor of our local cuisine. Whether it’s devouring a hearty plate of pepperpot or indulging in a sweet slice of black cake during the holidays, food has always been a central part of our gatherings and celebrations!
As someone who cherishes the beauty of our homeland, I often reflect on the stunning views along the rivers and canals that define our geography. While our capital, Georgetown, may face challenges, it’s also home to some of the warmest people you’ll ever meet. I often reminisce about the times spent on the banks of the Essequibo River, where laughter and stories flow as freely as the water itself. I strive to share this love for Guyana with the diaspora, who, like me, may feel a strong connection to home despite being miles away.
